Course Abstract: This workshop-oriented course is for those with a basic knowledge of utilities who need to take advantage of the power and versatility of this multi-purpose program.
Audience: This course is designed for Application Programmers who need to understand the features and impact of Syncsort. Technical Support personnel, production controllers and Database Administrators will also benefit.
Duration: 1 day
Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
> Create the Job Control Language needed to execute a sort
> Describe the major Control Statements of Syncsort and their use
> Cite the improvements realized in the testing and production environments through proper implementation of Syncsort

JCL requirements
Syncsort control statements, their format and syntax
Sort Key definition and selection
Sort examples
Coding PARM values
Merging datasets
Copying datasets
The INCLUDE and OMIT statements
Additional advanced features

Prerequisites: TSO and JCL Knowledge
