Course Abstract:

This course is a geared around teaching the understanding of managing and utilization of Windows SharePoint Services. It incorporates the basic project management concepts, tools and techniques and takes attendees through customizing the SharePoint site to meet the project lifecycle.  During the class, attendees will be working in and creating SharePoint sites to meet the essentials of communication and collaboration around their organization or project environments. 

This course applies tool sets and methodologies for organizations that desire to promote good collaboration, communication and summarization of documents, information and status reporting through the SharePoint website.  This course will address the industry best practices used in managing as well as utilizing a templates and subsites.

Audience: This course is designed for project managers or team members who will be communicating and managing tasks or projects utilizing the internet or web based communication.

Prerequisites:

Real-world experience in either managing a project team or working as a member of a project team is helpful in seizing the concepts within SharePoint that you can use to automate and simplify work.  Web experience and familiarization with mouse driven environment and Microsoft Windows is also helpful.
