MS Project Server 2003/2007 Team Members Course

Course Abstract:

Team Members are those individuals within an enterprise who are contributors to projects.  Team Members are assigned tasks in project schedules in Microsoft Project Professional and Project Server.  This course trains participants how to update and manage their project tasks, report and enter risks, issues,  documents and newn tasks through Project Server’s Project Web Access.

Audience:

This course is designed for project team members.

Duration: 4 hours
Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
> Understand the basic terminology of project management
> Accept/Decline tasks
> Task Delegation
> Understand task/ deliverable schedule
> Timesheet reporting
> Status reporting
> Managing Project documents, Risks and Issues with Share point

Course Topics:

Lesson 1: Overview of Project Management
This first lesson is an introduction to Project Management, (PM) PM terminology as well as project structure. 

Lesson 2: Introduction to MS Project 2002 Server web access
The students will learn how to log-on and learn to navigate the web interface

Lesson 3: Accepting/Declining/Delegating task assignments
Students will learn how to accept/decline/Delegate assignments

Lesson 4: Reporting Progress
In this lesson the students will learn how to report progress and and move assignments to on-time on-budget completion

Lesson 5: Responding to Project manger/ Team leader Status requests
In this lesson the project manager will make regular and ad-hoc requests from team members.  The students will learn how respond to these requests

Lesson 6: Publishing and retrieving Documents and issues associated with the project
The students will learn How to publish and retrieve project documentation using 

Prerequisites:

Familiarity with Project terminology is a benefit but not required.
