ISO/IEC 20000 Awareness Workshop Course

Course Abstract: Both internal and external IT service providers are challenged more than ever to provide high quality IT services through effective and efficient IT Service Management processes.  In December 2005, ISO/IEC 20000 (also referred as ISO20000) was accepted as the international standard for IT Service Management.  The ISO/IEC 20000 Certificate, which is issued to organizations, not individuals, confirms that a service provider has presented sufficient evidence of a Quality Management System and conformance to Service Management Best Practices.
Audience: This course is designed for individuals who are IT Service Management staff of internal and/or external IT service providers with an interest in service quality management and ISO/IEC 20000.
Duration: 1 day
Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

> Know the history and value of ISO standardization
> Identify the alignment and relationship to the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
> Know the Standard’s Requirements (Part 1 “shalls”) and Guidance (Part 2 “shoulds”)
> Identify the benefits of achieving and/or applying ISO/IEC 20000 Best Practices
> Know the certification scheme and approval process

Course Topics: This training style encourages active group participation, allowing all learners to bring from class a wealth of practical knowledge.
Prerequisites: ITIL Foundation knowledge is strongly encouraged.
