| Course Abstract: |
This course covers IMS database programming concepts, design, coding, testing and debugging. Segment Search Arguments (SSAs) are covered in detail along with emphasis on checking the PCB mask to understand the results of IMS database calls. Each workshop is preceded by lecture, discussion, and written exercise sessions. |

| Prerequisites: |
A familiarity with conventional file organizations for sequential and direct access to data records is needed. Six months of experience with COBOL and JCL is required. Also, the completion of an Introduction to IMS class or equivalent experience is recommended. |
