Course Abstract: This course is a combination of lecture, discussion and demo sessions. Topics include; modifying File-Aid parameters, editing an IMS database, selection criteria, COBOL file definitions, and extracting segments from an IMS database.
Audience: This course is designed for professionals who will be using File-Aid IMS.
Duration: 1 day
Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
> Modify File Aid parameters to access an IMS database
> Browse through an IMS database
> Edit an IMS database
> Use Selection Criteria to access only specific IMS database segments
> Use COBOL file definitions to view IMS database segments in Formatted Mode
> Access IMS database segments in Character Mode and Unformatted Mode
> Extract segments from an IMS database
