Course Abstract: This course provides an overview of the business partners’ role in effectively managing projects. Participants are introduced to the nine areas of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) established by the Project Management Institute as the industry standard for project management instruction. Participants also gain an understanding of standard project management processes, best practices, and how they affect the success of projects.
Audience: This course is designed for individuals who work with project teams and have a vested interest in the success of projects.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
> Identify what a project is and how it is different from operations
> Understand why there is so much project work in our current business world and how it relates to Return on Investment
> Identify the five major process groups of Project Management
> Identify the nine knowledge areas and how they affect the success of projects
> Identify sound project management processes, tools and techniques being utilized by project leaders
> Understand the business partner’s role in the successful launch of new projects through development of clear project definitions and established change control
