Course Abstract: This course explores the Problem Solving and Decision Making process. Informed Problem Solving and Decision Making are essential in making sound and effective choices in our professional lives. Participants discover how to learn from past decisions by exploring some of the greatest (and poorest) decisions in business history. Participants then identify the components of Problem Solving and Decision Making, and learn a seven-step model that facilitates and improves the process. Effective tools and techniques are introduced that are used for each step of the Problem Solving and Decision Making model.
Audience: This course is designed for anyone.

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

> The three types of decisions and when each type is most effective.
> How time affects the decision process, and what best to do about it
> The difference between a problem and a decision
> The advantages and disadvantages of team decision making
> How personalities influence the decision-making and problem-solving process
> A seven step model for decision making and problem solving
> Sixteen tools and techniques for better decision making and problem solving
