In this section, participants identify their preferred style of management by taking the Leadership Inventory. Participants also discover ways to improve upon their leadership skills.

Power, control, and authority are relevant to leadership effectiveness. This section identifies the leaders’ need for power and control, and links it with their authority and managerial style. Other relevant human behavior issues are examined.

During this section, participants gain an understanding of what motivation is and is not. Pparticipants learn how to create a motivating climate.
Becoming an Empowering Leader A. What is empowerment? B. Promoting empowerment
Like many “buzz-words,” there are many misperceptions of empowerment. Empowerment is not something to be imposed or to be “done” to others. Rather, it’s the ability to stimulate one’s personal power. In this section, participants will gain an understanding of empowerment, identify the factors associated with empowerment, and create strategies to improve upon their ability to empower.
