Interpersonal Communication Course

Course Abstract: This course focuses on communication and trust, the foundations of both business and personal relationships. Even under ideal circumstances, clear and concise communication is often difficult. With the daily pressures we experience at work, and the varying personalities we encounter, critical information often fails to be communicated clearly. This course teaches participants how to clearly and effectively communicate with others. In addition, participants learn how to give and receive feedback in ways that minimize defensiveness.
Audience: This course is designed for anyone.

Learning Outcomes:

The program offers participants the opportunity to:

>Describe the communication process
>Identify and experience several communication blockers
>Avoid being manipulated by the communication styles of others
>Identify three communication choices via a case study
>Apply a Four-Step Communication Process
>Learn and practice several communication skills; using the “I” form, asking questions, respectful listening, and empathic responding
