Functional Testing using QuickTest Professional (QTP) 9.x Workshop Series Course

Course Code: MQ 520
Course Abstract:

This workshop offering covers basic testing concepts and how to use QuickTest Professional (QTP) to plan,
build and execute automated functional tests. This workshop is geared toward new QTP users, but can also
be an effective refresher for experienced QTP users. Participants receive instructions on Functional Testing
using QTP from a Certified QTP professional in a workshop setting which relies on instructor-led discussions
and demonstrations, followed by review questions. Participants then learn to apply these concepts in a
hands-on lab setting by working on exercises based on real-life examples designed to provide the
participant with the knowledge necessary to automate functional tests in a Web/Windows environment using
QTP. The workshop will also focus on quality assurance and risk management methodologies.
Approximately 70% of the class is on tool usage.

The goal of the workshop is to enable participants to use application delivery products for quality
management effectively, and implement them correctly, while setting reasonable expectations concerning
the implementation. This workshop will explain the process by which functional testing solutions fit within
existing methodologies commonly used on Web/Windows projects.
