Course Abstract:	This course blends a comprehensive overview of the skills, knowledge and tools needed to effectively manage projects with an opportunity to gain valuable project management experience in a realistic case study environment. Special emphasis is placed on the unique challenges of information technology projects. Participants will become familiar with all nine areas of a guide to the project management body of knowledge (PMBOK guide) established by the project management institute as the industry standard for project management instruction. Participants also will learn to build and use key project management documents. This course incorporates the use of a personal computer for each work group. This course requires 1 PC per every group of 4-5 people in order to create projects in MS Project.
Audience:	This course is appropriate for newly appointed project managers or those with limited experience, technology professionals who desire a career in project management or functional managers who support technology project managers. Project teams about to begin a systems integration project also will find this course useful.
