| Course Abstract: |
This class is a workshop with each topic support by lab exercises. Participants can use performance data from their own system(s). The participant will learn a methodology to collect, manage, and report performance data on critical system measurements. The process of analyzing system performance involves identifying system tasks, execution priorities, and the resources used. Through the workshop labs, the process will be taught so that the participant will acquire the skills to efficiently manage multiple systems. |

| Prerequisites: |
Participants should have experience with:
> Application design and implementation
> Operating system principles and concepts
> System work load scheduling (interactive, batch, save/restore)
> Programming, system administration, and iseries hardware
In preparing for this course, identify and collect three days of prime shift system performance data and submit it to the teaching location at least one week prior to the course. This data will be loaded onto the iSeries and be used to run performance reports and queries. |
