iSeries Operations Workshop II Course

Course Abstract:

In this class participants can enhance their skills as an iSeries operator/administrator and develop skills in the areas of availability and recovery and advanced system administration. Participants learn how to use features of OS/400 to better manage disk usage. Learn about the graphical tools available in OS/400 to help with server administration. Understand availability functions built into OS/400 and how to choose which functions are appropriate for your system.

Audience:

This course is designed for operators, administrators, and IT professionals who are interested in gaining a more extensive understanding of OS/400, the iSeries operating system.

Duration: 3 days
Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
> Learn how to use OS/400 disk administration tools to manage disk capacity
> Develop a backup and recovery plan for your installation
> Learn administration tools in the GUI interface, such as collection services and performance monitors

Course Topics:

OS/400 availability features and how each is implemented
How to backup and recover your system

Prerequisites:

Working experience with OS/400 Navigator and ‘green screen’ interfaces. These skills can be developed through the successful completion of iSeries Operations Workshop I class, or equivalent knowledge.
