Course Abstract: The purpose of this course is to provide the participant with an in-depth overview of mainframes and how they fit into today's emerging technologies. This overview provides a look into the processing architecture, the communication abilities, and the intense security designed into the up-to-date, backward compatible, enhanced technology that now powers the largest enterprises on the planet.
Audience: This course is designed for managers, analysts, and programmers that require an overview of what the mainframe is designed to do, what it is good at doing, and what processes are left to other equipment to handle.

Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
> Recognize why the mainframe is ‘Not Dead Yet’ and maybe never will
> Identify how the mainframe has implemented the newest technologies
> Recognize the mainframe architecture as contrasted to PCs and servers
> Identify the typical software components that mainframes rely
> Recognize the past, present, and future of the mainframe technology
> Identify the Logical Partitioning of mainframes and performance

> Recognize that mainframes include C++, XML, JAVA, Linux, etc
