In this course, participants will review the basic features and functions of RPG IV for Version 5. They will develop and maintain simple RPG IV programs using features and functions available in the Version 5 compiler. This workshop gives experienced programmers unfamiliar with RPG, the skills required to write simple interactive and batch programs using free format RPG IV.
This course is designed for technicians familiar with other programming languages and who need to learn RPG IV coding principles.

Attendees should know how to use iSeries programming facilities such as PDM and/or CODE/400. Participants should have attended the iSeries Programming Facilities Workshop or have equivalent working knowledge. Attending the CL Programming Workshop would be helpful, but not required, prior to attending this class.
