Course Abstract:	Cognos 8 BI Framework Manager: provides participants with introductory to advanced knowledge of metadata modeling concepts, and how to model metadata for predictable reporting and analysis results using Framework Manager.
Audience:	This is an intermediate course for developers who design metadata models for use in Cognos 8 BI. You may have up to 12 participants for the session.
Duration:	2 days
Learning Outcomes:	Participants will learn the full scope of the metadata modeling process, from initial project creation, to publishing of metadata to the Web, enabling end users to easily author reports and analyze data.
Course Topics:	Framework Manager (2 days) Databases, SQL, Joins FM Windows Object Survey Database Connections New Framework – Wizard Relationships (Joins) Aliasing query items New Framework – Manual Copying vs. Shortcutting vs. New Query Items Publishing Packages Developer / Business Views Dimensional Hierarchies Star Schemas Workshop (1 day) Optional Answer client specific questions Create real reports using client packages and data
Prerequisites:	Required: Knowledge of common industry standard data structures and design Experience with SQL Experience gathering requirements and analyzing data Recommended: Cognos 8 BI Report Studio Availability of a conference room, projector and computers for each participant(s) and trainer The appropriate software installed on each participant(s) computer prior to start of training.
