Cognos 8 BI Administration Course

Course Abstract: This course is designed to teach new administrators the fundamental responsibilities of administering servers and content in IBM Cognos 8 BI. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on exercises, participants will set up the Cognos 8 BI system, implement security, and manage the server components.
Audience: This course is intended for Administrators (system, directory, and content administrators).   You may have up to 12 participants for the session.
Duration: 1 day

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

> Monitor and schedule tasks, create data sources, manage and deploy content, manage content in Cognos Connection.

Workshop (1 day) Optional
Answer client specific questions
Create real reports using client packages and data

Prerequisites:

Knowledge of Web application server architectures
Security systems administration
Experience using the Windows operating system
Experience using a Web browser
Knowledge of your business requirements
Availability of a conference room, projector and computers for each participant(s) and trainer

The appropriate software installed on each participant(s) computer prior to start of training
Connection to your database from either ODBC or native driver
