The Advanced FOCUS Reporting Class will teach the participant FOCUS internal concepts as they relate to reporting, including the two phases that comprise a typical report. By understanding these important internal concepts, the participant will learn how to write more efficient and effective reports in FOCUS. The participant will learn how to perform record selection based on subtotal and/or totals. The course will introduce prefix operators for calculating average, minimum, maximum, and other values. A major section of the course will introduce using multiple verbs in reporting, for combining summary and detail data all into one report request. Additional formatting options, including subtotaling, customized subheadings and footings, special calculations, and special reporting options will also be presented. The participant will also learn additional sorting options for reporting. The course will include the merging of multiple files together for subsequent reporting. There will also be a section on user-defined variables in reporting. |
